Shaquille O’Neal has just opened a luxury apartment building in Newark, New Jersey worth $80 million. In partnership with Boraie Development, the building has 22 floors, 168 units, a gym, an amenities room, a Skydeck with a rooftop cabanas, and stunning skyline views of both Jersey City and New York City.

The high rise building is called 50 Rector Park, but many natives refer to it as “Shaq Tower” – named after Shaq himself who was born and raised in Newark.
“I remember when I was growing up (the city) used to be beautiful like this so the older I get, I want it to be a little more beautiful,” O’Neal told reporters. “I invest in things that are going to make a difference.”
60% of the units are already sold out and tentants are loving the location. It’s within walking distance from Whole Foods, Ironbound, Newark Penn Station, the Prudential Center, NJ PAC, Military Park, and the brand new riverfront park under development.
Even O’Neal himself has a unit on one of the penthouse floors.
