Death Row Survivor Romell Broom Survives 18 Lethal Injection Attempts

For most, a doctor’s struggle to find a vein is a mere inconvenience during medical procedures. However, for death row inmate Romell Broom, this difficulty bought him an additional 11 years of life. Initially scheduled for execution on September 15th, 2009, Broom’s last-minute reprieve became an unexpected twist of fate, defying the end many believed was inevitable after he received the death sentence for the 1984 murder of 14-year-old Tryna Middleton.
