16-Year-Old Saves Best Friend’s Life One Day After Completing CPR Training

The day after Torri’ell Norwood earned her CPR certification at Lakewood High School, little did she know she’d put it to use to save her best friend’s life.

Norwood was driving when she says she was struck by another vehicle. A’zarria Simmons, a passenger, was knocked unconscious, and Norwood started doing CPR to get her breathing again. Simmons says she only remembers being at the hospital, but says if it weren’t for Norwood, “I wouldn’t be here today.”
