Meet Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, California’s first-ever Surgeon General.

According to NBC News, Newsom said in a news release that Harris “will focus on combating the root causes of serious health conditions and use her office to reach young families across the state.”

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996, Harris went on to earn her medical degree from the University of California Davis School of Medicine. Afterwards, She then obtained a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University and finished her residency in pediatrics at Stanford University.

In her new role, Dr. Harris will remain dedicated to her work of helping underserved communities and improving the health of children who are exposed to traumatic experiences.

  1. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear
and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but
    I had to tell someone!
