Looks like 2020 is off to a good start for Steve Harvey.
After NBC cancelled his long-running talk show to make way for Kelly Clarkson’s daytime program last year, the beloved TV host made it clear to fans that he felt optimistic about entering the next “chapter” in his life. It turns out that Steve’s new chapter involves taking on another project—and he’s actually happy for the host who took over his slot.
“I’m back on TV, you know,” Steve said during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. “Everybody thought I was gone.”
The 62-year-old is referencing his recently launched series with Facebook, STEVE on Watch. The first batch of episodes, which began on January 6, will run for 10 weeks with multiple segments airing on the platform per week.
“You know, I’m a person of faith, so when a door closes for me, I just walk up the hill. It’s more doors,” he continued. “You’ve just got to keep going up the hill. So I open other doors and I’m back on TV and I’m happy for everybody. I like Kelly Clarkson, I’m happy for her.”
