Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, takes her first steps into the world of cinema with a role in ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ Disney’s highly anticipated prequel to the 2019 Lion King reboot. In this upcoming film, Blue Ivy, aged 12, lends her voice to Kiara, the lion cub daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala, portrayed by Donald Glover and Beyoncé in the previous installment.
The announcement of her casting was made in the film’s inaugural trailer, released on Monday (29 April), underlining her debut alongside her mother, Beyoncé Knowles. Joining the cast as younger versions of Mufasa and Scar are Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr., respectively, while the iconic roles of Mufasa and Scar, originally voiced by James Earl Jones, continue to resonate with audiences. Alongside returning cast members like John Kani, Seth Rogen, and Billy Eichner, newcomers Mads Mikkelsen and Thandiwe Newton are poised to add fresh depth to this beloved cinematic universe.
