William Garrison spend 44 years in prison has died just weeks before he was scheduled for release he passed away from corona-virus. He died at the age of 60 last week. He was serving time for first-degree murder after a shooting during a 1976 armed robbery and was only 16 at the time.

The Department of Corrections “tried to parole him earlier this year, and he refused to leave prison,” said Chris Gautz, a spokesperson for the department.
